Tech Tip Tuesday: Going Split-Screen on a Chromebook

This one’s a quick one.

Occasionally, there is a need to view two different windows simultaneously on your computer. Whether it’s for the purpose of recording grades from Google Classroom into MiStar or taking notes on a Google Doc while watching a video on YouTube, you may have already struggled with manually orienting the windows to fit side-by-side.

Struggle no more. Just like there’s a hot key combination on a Windows computer (see our previous post, “Hotkeys for Teachers“), there’s also a combination for Chromebooks:

alt + [   sends the selected window to the left half of the screen

alt + ]   sends the selected window to the right half of the screen
