Meet the New Tech Coach Intern

Hello everyone! My name is Ashley Apostol and I’m the new student intern working with Amy Gwizdz. I’m a current senior attending the University of Michigan-Dearborn where I’m majoring in Instructional Technology and minoring in Leadership & Communication in Organizations.

I started to have an interest in technology during high school. I was always the student who got excited about a new computer program or website to create projects. I would try my best to learn everything about these programs and websites. Peers and even teachers would look to me for advice, if they were stuck on how to do something. This sparked an idea in me, “What if I could do this as a career?” This passion for teaching technology to others grew as I got older and I knew this was what I wanted to do in life.

When I’m not taking classes, I’m part of a student organization on campus called the Student Association for Filipino Americans (SAFA). I’m on executive board working as Media Chair, where I manage the organization social media accounts, create graphics, and capture the events by taking photos and videos. This organization has helped me open up a new understanding of the Filipino culture and make many lifelong friends.

I am excited and thankful to be given the opportunity to work in the Dearborn Public School District. I hope to learn a lot from Amy and also those in the Technology Department!
