We are starting a new blog series on the Tech Coach blog about the 6 ISTE standards for students. These standards describe the skills and knowledge students need to learn effectively and live productively in an increasingly global and digital society. In order for students to successfully achieve these goals, teachers must integrate strategies that involve digital tools consistently with students every year.
In this blog series, we will discuss each standard and provide some examples of projects or ideas teachers can use to implement each standard. We have used the book, Integrating Technology in the Classroom by Boni Hamilton, for our main reference. Each post will highlight a standard, explain the standard, and give an example or examples of activities teachers can incorporate into their classroom to meet these standards. The activities are meant to jumpstart your thinking, so that you may ultimately create lessons and activities that are suited for your classroom needs. Enjoy!
