Course_ Wiacek 7th Grade English Language Arts - Google Chrome 2015-10-25 18.57.17Stout Middle School language arts teacher Marla Wiacek, together with co-teacher Nicole West and student teacher Ikram Alhassan, has begun using iLearn to help students learn writing skills in 7th grade language arts.

Wiacek uses iLearn to make available an organized set of resources for students to use, including class notes, tutorials in video format, and templates for writing.Wiacek 7 ELA_ Lesson Learned Anchor Chart - Google Chrome 2015-10-25 19.00.11

Then, utilizing Google Docs, Mrs. Wiacek had students compose their personal memoir (a required writing exercise, as detailed in the Dearborn Educational Curriculum). Assignment - Google Chrome 2015-10-25 18.59.20

When they finished, students uploaded their Google Doc to an iLearn assignment module, which contained a rubric that was visible beforehand.  Students received feedback from the teachers via the rubric and the feedback comments feature of the iLearn assignment module.
